Post Study Work
The Third Level Graduate Scheme is created to allow the foreign graduates who are from outside the European Economic Area (EEA) who obtained a primary, masters or doctorate degree from an Irish third level educational institution to remain in Ireland for a period of six months to two years. Steps to follow – Post Student Arrival in Ireland
The student will receive his visa for 15 days or 3 months. The student should register at the Garda National Immigration Bureau (GNIB) soon after he arrives.
The documents which are listed below are required
- Passport.
- Student ID card provided by university of Ireland.
- A letter from the registrar’s office of the school or university stating that the student is a registered student and mentioning the date of starting and the completion date of his course.
- The student must show a part of his living expense like a minimum of €3000 to the visa office in his bank statement.
- A fee of €300 through credit card or debit card (no cash accepted).
Working in Ireland
- Minimum of 1 year of study is must.
- Students must hold a valid immigration stamp.
- Registration with Garda National Immigration Bureau (GNIB) is must.
- Registered students are permitted to work only 20 hours per week during the course time and 40 hours per week during vacation.
- Minimum wage of the student is €9.15 per hour.

Entry Requirements
English Language Requirement
- Medium of Instruction – English.
- IELTS – for Masters: 6.5 with no band less than 6.0 for Bachelors: 6.0 with no band less than 5.5
- Academic percentage – 60% to 70% and above.
- Study gap should not be there more than 2 years.
- More than 2 years of experience is accepted for masters.
For Undergraduate Courses
- A Higher secondary school certificate (12th Standard results) from a recognized institution is required.
- To enter the 3rd year of a degree, students are required to have successfully passed a minimum of two years of higher studies after 12th Standard to earn 60%.
For Postgraduate Courses
- An undergraduate degree from a well recognized University with a minimum of 70% or above.
- Students with other relevant qualifications and a minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience are also considered.

Documents required for making an application to a University:
- Correct application form.
- Resume or curriculum vitae.
- A Statement of purpose (for Universities & Institutes of Technologies).
- 2 Letters of Recommendation (for Universities & Institutes of Technologies) & Work Experience Letter if any.
- IELTS/TOEFL/PTE Score card.
- Degree Certificate & all the mark sheets of Bachelors.
- Attested copies and mark sheets of 12th STD & 10th STD.
- The subject key should be mentioned if the 10th and 12th mark sheets contain only subject codes.
- Copy of Passport (first & last page).
- 4 extracurricular activities.
- Passport size photographs.
Student Visa Process
Documents Required for Visa Application:
- Complete visa application form (MVV form) printed and signed.
- Original passport with photocopy of front and last page.
- Colour Passport size photographs which is taken recently not more than 6 months old.
- The student should submit the photocopies of each page of all the passports.
- Original police clearance certificate.
- Original and a photocopy of acceptance letter and confirmation of fees.
- Statement of purpose.
- Resume/CV.
- 10th and 12th mark sheet.
- Graduation mark sheet and certificate.
- IELTS/PTE score card.
- Experience certificate.
- Bank statement and bank balance certificate of last 6 months.
- Bank loan sanction letter (if any).
- Income tax return acknowledgment or in case of student his/her sponsor’s for the last two assessment years.
- CA statement regarding net worth of the sponsor.
- Photocopy of medical insurance is mandatory.
- Provide full details of the sponsors for the students.
- In case if the sponsor is not directly related to the student, then explain their relation and provide evidence.
Note: Students are advised to carry 2 to 3 photocopies of each document along with the original copies for verification.
